A While Back...

When I was growing up I used to be real terrified to go to sleep. I always remember having to have a light on and music playing in order for my mind to let myself sleep.

Lately I have been really really jumpy. It really is quite annoying because I am not normally jumpy. I might get scared but I'm not ever jumpy.

I was reading in the lounge of the dorm, everyone had gone off to Calgary for a wedding, and as I was reading I heard this scratching. Not the sort of scratching you hear against wood, or metal...it was unique-different.

So I didn't move. I was determined to discover - without looking - what the sound was coming from. As I am intently listening to this sound the whole dorm is far past quiet. I don't think I have ever been in a place that makes as little noise as our dorm does right now.

So I'm listening away - finding great pleasure in trying to figure out what this noise is. All of a sudden,

!!SNAP!!

My heart did a bloody back flip.

one of the 8 mouse traps we have set up went off...of course there was no reason for it to go off...no mouse...nothing..It just went off.

I spent the rest of the day jumpy as ... well ... a touchy mouse trap. For someone who isn't normally jumpy...boy was it annoying.

However - because I went to bed with music on (cuz I'm a scaredy cat)- this morning I woke up to the silky voice of Mr. Nat King Cole. Talk about starting the day on the right foot...

p.s - the scratching was from a whole that leads to our counter top. This is an access point that the mice like to use - near everyday. We had taped it up with packing tape so they couldn't get in.

A cleaver little mousie was nibbeling the tap and was near through. When i finally looked his face was stuck to the tap....hahaha...it was deeply humourous catching him and then watching him as he slowly peeled his face off of the tap....poor guy...wonder if he has any wiskers left....
*snicker*

Offical Status

I do believe that I have reached it.
I have attainted something that I never really thought possible.
Maybe it has always been there.
*shudder*
Maybe it has simply been hiding, just beneath radar.
I wonder what else is hiding undetected.

Today I needed reading material.
Did i pick up the book i need to read for class in the fall?
No.
Did i read the other three books i have on the go?
No.
What did i do you may be asking?
I
picked
up
a
commentary.

A COMMENTARY! Of all things!

I have officially reached Geek status.
*sigh*

p.s - it really is a good commentary though, it's on Ezekiel...

Beauty that is ungraspable

I love Spring Time.
I think maybe because I love nature and I love art and I have an eye or a gravitation towards things like that.....spring time is like sensory overload on poor ol'libbie.

Since i have returned from my high school tours...i have been overloaded with the beauty of this town, this province, the feilds...

It has been raining for the past 3 days or so - thank you Jesus - and everywhere you look is that amazing colour of green that you only see in the spring. The town has come alive - well physically I mean.

I was walking along the train tracks the other day - which has swiftly become one of my favorite hobbies since i graduated - and I rolled my ankle....

*sniff, sniff*

then when I returned home i grabbed my camera because it was prime photo-op around town....so i walked on it for a good hour.

I wake up this morning, slide out of bed and the only thing that ran through my head besides "I'm throwning that alarm clock out of the window" was:
"PAIN, OH DEAR...LOTS OF PAIN"

So now I'm a hop along pretty much. but because of my pride...i will not hop.

China to Britney: Come and perform but you must leave the revealing outfits at home.

Britney Spears' first China tour has been approved by the Culture Ministry, but they want to know what she's wearing before she hits the stage, the official China News Service reported Tuesday

It's about time eh...I hope other countries catch the drift and join the club.
